Changelings

Like many things in our group's TTRPGs, we don't necessarily treat Changelings the same way as they're written in the Forgotten Realms' lore, Jo's D&D settings have homebrewed rules about Changelings as well as unique lore and quirks for them.

Deltarra's Changelings are a result of Mask, Deltarra's Trickster God of Secrets, wanting to create his own species of Mortals. Mask had one of his divine servants become mortal and mate with other mortals to spread the Changeling species. Changelings in their base form have no sex organs and have to shapeshift into other species to reproduce, Changeling genes can lay dormant for many generations before manifesting. Cultures across Deltarra regard Changelings differently and they usually manifest their true nature in their early to mid teens. Mental illness is very common in Changelings due to the stress inherent to their lives when they live in places where they are stigmatized.
